Tamil es una latina nacida en Puerto Rico, profesional en ciencias y matemáticas, hija de padres líderes en diferentes comunidades, su madre como trabajadora social y su padre como profesor de matemáticas, de ahí hereda su interés por trabajar a favor de diferentes organizaciones. Su ambición nace de sus abuelas, mujeres emprendedoras y que lucharon siempre por salir adelante superando las adversidades.
Radicada en Colorado, llega a la industria de la cerveza por evolución y la necesidad de ofrecer un producto que reúna amigos y familia en torno a la celebración con identidad hispana. Tamil es Co-fundadora junto con otros 2 socios, de la cervecería “Raíces”, empresa que nace 5 meses antes de la pandemia y que gracias a diferentes estrategias de marketing, lograron mantenerse a flote.
Abrirse espacio como latinos en una industria tan grande no ha sido fácil, pero año a año, su producto ha crecido tanto que ya el nombre de “Raíces” no es indiferente entre consumidores, comerciantes y restaurantes. Para este 2023, la marca realiza su tercer Festival de la cerveza “Suave Fest”, en el que reúne alrededor de 18 cervecerías latinas de todo el país y que se llevará a cabo el próximo 30 de septiembre. Este evento también reúne diferentes artistas latinos desde músicos, artesanos hasta pintores, todos con el fin de honrar la cultura latina.
En sus cuatro años de existencia, la cervecería ha recibido más de 15 premios y reconocimientos por sus productos y programas de trabajo social. En sus palabras Tamil nos dice: “Un premio para nosotros es un triunfo de la comunidad y que nuestro trabajo es visible”.
Una de las cosas que tiene clara en su cervecería Raíces, es cómo es el impacto en la comunidad. Raíces desarrolla alrededor de 350 eventos al año que son abiertos y gratuitos para la comunidad, dando espacio a diferentes artistas y reuniendo familias en torno a la celebración gracias a sus productos.

Tamil is a Latina born in Puerto Rico, a professional in science and mathematics, daughter of parents who are leaders in different communities, her mother as a social worker and her father as a math teacher, from where she inherited her interest in working on behalf of different organizations. Her ambition stems from her grandmothers, entrepreneurial women who always struggled to overcome adversity.
Based in Colorado, she came to the beer industry because of evolution and the need to offer a product that brings together friends and family around the celebration with Hispanic identity. Tamil is co-founder along with 2 other partners, of the brewery «Raíces», a company that was born 5 months before the pandemic and thanks to different marketing strategies, managed to stay afloat.
Opening a space for Latinos in such a large industry has not been easy, but year after year, their product has grown so much that the name «Raíces» is no longer indifferent among consumers, retailers and restaurants. For this 2023, the brand is holding its third «Suave Fest» beer festival, which brings together around 18 Latin breweries from all over the country and will take place on September 30. This event also brings together different Latino artists from musicians, artisans to painters, all with the purpose of honoring the Latino culture.
In its four years of existence, the brewery has received more than 15 awards and recognitions for its products and social work programs. In Tamil’s words, «An award for us is a triumph for the community and that our work is visible.
One of the things he is clear about at his brewery, Raíces, is how it impacts the community. Raíces develops around 350 events a year that are open and free for the community, giving space to different artists and gathering families around the celebration thanks to their products.
